Wings of Hope International ("Wings of Hope," "we," "us") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that serves families in Juampas, Haiti. We respect the trust you place in us when you give, volunteer or reach out. This policy explains what information we collect through wingsofhopeintl.org, how we use it and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Information you give us:
- Donations: your name, email, phone, billing address, gift amount and frequency, and any note you add (such as "in honor of").
- Event RSVPs and sponsorships: your name, contact details, organization, sponsorship level, guest names, payment details you report to us (such as the name on a Zelle payment), and logos you upload for recognition.
- Volunteer and contact forms: your name, contact details, location, skills, languages, interests and any message you send.
- Email sign-ups: your name and email address.
Information collected automatically:
When you visit our site, our website platform (Wix) and analytics tools may collect basic technical data: your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and how you arrived at our site. This happens through cookies and similar technologies.
How payments are handled
Online gifts are processed securely by our payment providers, Wix Payments and PayPal. We never see or store your full card number. Payments sent by Zelle or Venmo go through your own bank or app. We only receive the information those services show us, such as your name, the amount and the memo.
How we use your information
- To process your gift and send your tax receipt
- To confirm RSVPs, reserve seats and recognize sponsors
- To respond to questions and follow up with volunteers
- To send updates, newsletters and stories about our work (you can unsubscribe anytime)
- To keep records required by law, including tax and accounting rules
- To understand how people use our website so we can improve it
How we share it
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only:
- With service providers that help us run our work: website hosting, payment processing, email and forms. They may use it only to provide those services to us.
- To recognize sponsors and donors publicly, only with your permission. Let us know if you'd like to give anonymously.
- When required by law, or to protect the safety of our community and the people we serve.
Cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site, such as donation checkout, may not work properly without them.
Emails
Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email us at the address below to be removed.
How we protect and keep your information
We use reasonable safeguards, and we rely on trusted providers with industry-standard security. No website can guarantee perfect security. We keep donation records as long as tax and accounting rules require, and other information only as long as we need it for the purposes above.
Your choices
You can ask us to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop contacting you. Email us and we'll respond promptly. Some records, such as donation receipts, may need to be kept for legal reasons.
Children's privacy
Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information online. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed.
